About Corto
|
Gabrielecorto Moltedo carries design and style in his veins as the son of Laura and Vittorio Moltedo, founders of Bottega Veneta, the eponymous luxury goods brand. A lifetime apprentice to his parents’ trade and quintessentially Italian point of view, Moltedo accompanied his parents on their travels, learning every aspect of the business from design to production with summers spent working in the family factory.

Gabrielecorto then moved to Paris and founded the Corto Moltedo brand while remaining true to his origins with design and production headquarters in Italy.

Α BIT ABOUT MYSELFI was raised between New York City and Italy and the two cultures and landscapes have undoubtedly framed my artistic vision, from concrete Greenwich Village streets of the 80s and 90s lined with graffitti, wide Uptown avenues, where chic meets chic on every corner, to the frentic energy of Times Square where I spent endless hours on the hunt for fresh new music, the shining lights, pulsing rhythms an endless urban anthem I carry with me now. |
This in contrast with the tranquil beauty of the Italian country side, my youth spent taking boats to school against a backdrop of the exquisite beauty of Venice, instilling in me a passion for art and architecture, a love of history, and an awe for what human hands are capable of building. Art and music remain my greatest inspirations, evident from the detail of each handbag I create, the jukeboxe present in the Paris boutique, and the tail piano in the Milan shop; all tribute to my feverish youth in search of the great beats and beautiful melodies that captured my imagination.
